			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>There is no <a TITLE="Funding Social Enterprises" TARGET="_blank" HREF="http://www.socialfirms.co.uk/index.php/Section170.html">dedicated ‘pot’ of money for Social Firms</a> either nationally or regionally and, as we know, there is currently no financial or fiscal incentive for starting up a Social Firm so it does require an element of research to identify where the opportunities exist. It is always a challenge to stay up to date with what funding and <a TITLE="Social funding" HREF="http://www.socialfirms.co.uk/index.php/Section170.html">finance opportunities</a> exist for developing social enterprises but we have made an attempt below to be as helpful as we can in this regard.</p>

It tells them about a huge range of adaptations with installation and user guides. A total of £500,000 is available for events that highlight the contributions of veterans past and present. The fund is open to charities and other voluntary and community organisations as well as Schools for activities that directly lead to people taking part in sustained physical activity. Applications can be made at any time.</span></font></font><font face="Verdana"><span style="font-family: Verdana" lang="EN-GB"> </span></font><strong><font face="Verdana"><span style="font-weight: bold; font-family: Verdana" lang="EN-GB">Positive Destinations Grants Programme Now Open for Applications (UK) </span></font></strong><font face="Verdana"><span style="font-family: Verdana" lang="EN-GB">BBC Children in Need and the Hunter Foundation have announced that they are now accepting applications under a new £2 million grants programme to fund innovative and effective projects for the most vulnerable children and young people in the UK. The programme will seek to support projects that target either key points in determining a young person&#8217;s future (i.e. pre-school, transition from primary to secondary education and the 14 – 16 year period prior to work or further education). The closing date for applications will be the 30th March 2008.</span></font><font face="Verdana"><span style="font-family: Verdana" lang="EN-GB"><strong><font face="Verdana"><span style="font-weight: bold; font-family: Verdana" lang="EN-GB">Community Cash Awards ( UK ) </span></font></strong><font face="Verdana"><span style="font-family: Verdana" lang="EN-GB">The Awards, worth £250 to £5,000, are available to disadvantaged 14 to 25-year-olds who want to transform their area and learn practical skills. Projects must be run and managed by people between the ages of 14 and 25; clearly benefit the local community; benefit the people running the project; and be a new or developing project. The grants available range from £1,000 – £5,000 (more may be available for exceptional projects). The closing date for applications is the 20th March 2008.</span></font></p>

Applications must be with us on or before 25 April 2008.</span></font><font face="Verdana"><span style="font-family: Verdana" lang="EN-GB"><font size="2" face="Symbol"><span style="font-size: 10pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: Symbol" lang="EN-GB"><span><font size="1" face="Times New Roman"><span style="font: 7pt 'Times New Roman'"> </span></font></span></span></font><strong><font face="Verdana"><span style="font-weight: bold; font-family: Verdana" lang="EN-GB">Lloyds TSB Foundations to Receive £37.1 Million in 2008 (UK) </span></font></strong><font face="Verdana"><span style="font-family: Verdana" lang="EN-GB">The Lloyds TSB Group has announced that the four Lloyds TSB Foundations across the UK will receive £37.1 million this year to fund charities supporting disadvantaged people and community groups across the UK. The independently run Lloyds TSB Foundations form one of the largest grant-making trusts in the UK and have distributed over £330 million since 1987. Funding through the Foundation is primarily made through two grant programmes.</span></font></p>

Earlier this year, in Round One BIG awarded £30 million to 71 advice agencies across England . Organisations funded included Citizens Advice Bureaus, Disability and Welfare Associations, employment organisations, local Law Centres, Age Concern, Refugee and Asylum Advice Centres, etc.   The closing date for applications is the 1st April 2008.</span></font><font face="Verdana"><span style="font-family: Verdana" lang="EN-GB"><strong><font face="Verdana"><span style="font-weight: bold; font-family: Verdana" lang="EN-GB">Impetus Trust ( UK ) </span></font></strong><font face="Verdana"><span style="font-family: Verdana" lang="EN-GB">Charities that work with and want to improve the lives of disadvantaged people have the opportunity to apply for funding through the Impetus Trust. The investment package which Impetus offers is flexible but is most likely to be between £150,000- £300,000. Applications can be submitted at any time.</span></font></p>

The Trust provides a variety of grants ranging from £500 through its community chest to help small organisations develop to larger grants of up to £300,000 to bigger voluntary, community and statutory organisations.</span></font><font face="Verdana"><span style="font-family: Verdana" lang="EN-GB"> </span></font><strong><font face="Verdana"><span style="font-weight: bold; font-family: Verdana" lang="EN-GB">Funding to Support Community Initiatives ( Scotland ) </span></font></strong><font face="Verdana"><span style="font-family: Verdana" lang="EN-GB">Small Community based organisations with a project idea that will be of benefit to their local community are able to apply for funding of up to £5,000 to the Scottish Community Foundations. The Scottish Community Foundation provides a range of grants to be eligible, groups need to have an annual income of less than £250,000 and the grant will need to spent within 12 months. The fund is open to the community, voluntary and public sector.
